Marcela Marins

/ Interior Designer

Born with a natural aptitude for mixing colors, textures, materials and shapes, Marcela has waded the waters of fashion design and architecture, but it was with Interior Design that she found her true passion.

Marcela studied architecture in São Paulo, Brazil where she was born and then later moved to Chicago IL, where she studied Interior Design. While still studying Interior Design, one of Marcela’s projects was published in a local newspaper due to its uniqueness and creativity.

Since an early age, Marcela was surrounded by the beauty of contemporary European and Brazilian styles of furniture which shaped her understanding and taste for a true functional Interior Design, but really fell in love with the furniture styles and accessories once she visited furniture museums and stores in Scandinavia and The Netherlands. She has chosen the USA as home, she loves the great weather/mix of cultures.

• Over 20 years’ experience in design - Born in São Paulo, Brazil and has lived in USA since 2000 - Speaks English, Portuguese and some Spanish..  
• Has a loved teenager son - Loves dogs (two of her own).
• Volunteers weekly at her church to raise funds and help the ones in need.
• Her favorite design quote: “The life of a designer is a life of fight: fight against the ugliness.” Massimo Vignelli.
